On another recent Pinterest excursion, I happened upon the most lovely tutorial for painting t-shirts posted by
Stay-at-Home Artist. The crafter used freezer paper to create a unique stencil for her design. Of course, I was doomed to love her tutorial because she included pictures of her own Harry Potter design (click the link above and go see it! It's pretty boss.)
My friends and I read the Hunger Games series and saw the movie last Friday. (It is a
fantastic rendition of the book, btw!) My friend
Sarah and I knew we wanted to make shirts to wear for when we went to watch the movie, so I bought some $0.30 t-shirts from the thrift store (SCORE!) and we got to work. It was time consuming and we both felt like hard-core rebels staying up past 10:00 on a Thursday night when we had work in the morning.
After much exacto knife cutting, ironing, and painting our shirts were done!
Sarah found some shirt paint that you can spray and made this awesome grungy (we said that word about 100 times that night) look. She chose the phrase, "Let the seventy-fourth Hunger Games begin".
I went with the phrase, "May the odds be ever in your favor," which was WAY over-used in the movie, but looks great on my t-shirt! The gold paint has some very nice sparkles in it once it's dry. :)
